Tony Roma's for Valentine's Day

A little back story before I post this. A few years back, when J and I were still in college, we couldn't afford to eat out. By eat out, I mean, ANYWHERE. We had to prioritize the money for diapers, milk *insert sob story here*. Actually our families were super supportive, but they encouraged us to support ourselves financially. For about 5 years, we were content with eating very simply at home, and Starbucks was our treat for ourselves. (Gosh, writing this parang kawawa talaga, hahaha.) But we didn't mind.

Tony Roma's was one of those restaurants that opened during this time. Everyone got to try it (well, that's how we felt) except us. If I may, I will include Cibo and Outback as part of this group of evil restaurants that everyone loved but we never ate in. Hahaha (just kidding).

For some reason, even though we had enough money already, and totally GORGED on Cibo and other restaurants around the metro, Tony Roma's we stayed away from. Partly because other delicious restaurants surrounded it. Partly because we will always have that fear of their rates. Hahahaha!

J and I always eat out for Valentine's Day, but we don't celebrate ng BONGGA because it's close to our annual BF-GF Anniv, which we celebrate instead of our wedding anniversaries. We decided to have a late lunch to avoid the lunch and dinner crowds, and also because we had so much work. As we were headed to ATC, I suggested different restaurants in ATC, leaning towards Cibo (since it's been months since we ate there.) J suggested we try something new, and asked if we could eat in Tony Roma's. My eyes got big and I thought to myself "BONGGA!" (which is stupid, because we've eaten in more expensive places at this point for special occassions.) I was hesitant/resistant, but eventually I agreed. I mean, we ate the whole damn mall already, this must be the only part of the mall we haven't eaten...

I am so glad we did! Though expensive, it's really worth the rates. We racked up a bill of almost P2,000, but we didn't complain. The food was high quality, delicious, well-done, great service -- ACES ALL AROUND! Added bonus -- only 3 other couples were in the resto while we were there, so we weren't rushed. It was nice, quiet, and dare I say, ROMANTIC for a lunch date! Yahoo!

Steaks - GREAT. Super soft. Done just right.
Lemonade - SUPER. FRESH.
Free Pumpkin soup. - Awesomely FREE. Awesome SOUP.
Platter - DELISH.
Ambience - PEERFECTO.

I was so happy to try this. I told J that their steaks reminded me exactly of Borgo, J agreed. But Borgo, of course, is A LOT cheaper. Overall though, happy to finally eat here, I know we're wayyyy behind everyone else in the world.
