You Set me Free by Angie Miller

You find me here alone I hear a voice that's so unknown. It strikes courage on my backbones Strengthen my heart A life set apart I see that's what you are. A fire when I'm weak A strength that carries me The cover thru the storm That's what you are You come, you come with open arms You say "I love you for who you are" When I was haunted and alone With this baggage on my back Dragging me down You set me free You set me free You set me free How quickly will I run away And let it all go to my head I can't give in to my self and harm people who get in my way Why can't we just listen, break down our pride Get away You come, you come with open arms You say I love you for who you are When I was haunted and alone With this baggage on my back Dragging me down You set me free You set me free You set me free You set me You set me free You set me You set me free Free When I was haunted and alone With this baggage on my

Ramen Yushoken

Image
I'm ashamed to say this, but Ramen Yushoken was one of those restaurants that was COMPLETELY out of my radar. How out? Well, I was in Molito almost daily for eating, work, errands, and I NEVER even saw this restaurant. Never heard about it from my friends until a few weeks ago, in fact! Tsk tsk. So out of the loop! The only reason I came to know about this restaurant, was through this article: " Foodies pick top 3 new restaurants of 2012 ." (This is a MUST READ, BTW)

Angela Miller on American Idol

Image
My favorite girl from the current season of American Idol. I'm excited to see more of her performances! Here she is singing an original song she wrote, "You Set Me Free." You can see the judges shaking their heads in disbelief. Randy Jackson keeps going "wow," and Keith looks like he's about to cry. When she sings the last few notes, you can see she has this smile, like she can't believe that performance came out of her. The whole performance was haunting perfection. She got a standing ovation after. Please note -- this girl is PARTIALLY DEAF.  Go Angela! You come, you come with open arms You said "I love you for who you are" When I was haunted and alone With this baggage on my back Dragging me down You set me free. P.S. Apparently, this song was meant to be a Christian song. DUH. It's pretty obvious, I don't know how we didn't pick up on that earlier =P Perhaps it's the Valentine blues. She's the daughte

A Good Read.

I've been super-duper busy blessed with work these last few weeks, it's crazy. We've been booked for events even for December 2013, for kiddie parties! Very grateful (versus very unhappy haha).  There are so many things I would like to blog about, but they will have to wait for now. However, I would like to share with you my current read, which I am satisfied with so far: "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. I grew up an avid reader of books, much to the dismay of my Dad. I say dismay because books are very expensive, and I could polish off a Sweet Valley book within an hour of reading it. I would read during lunch, dinner... in the moving car, in  a party. I wasn't a nerd or anything, I just really loved books! (This, however, did not make me as smart or as well-versed as I wished to be). This was a very expensive hobby growing up, and I had an extensive collection of books, mostly composed of Sweet Valley. =P (Sana may Kindle na that time). After

Yabu, House of Katsu

Image
Anyone who has a Twitter account knows that Yabu, House of Katsu is a pretty hot restaurant right now. I've seen enough pictures in my Instagram, Twitter and FB to make me drool. When I found out that they opened their 2nd branch in Robinsons Magnolia, I was excited, as I was also planning to check our Robinsons Magnolia anyways. I am always interested in checking out the different malls --- the reason behind this is I need to know all available malls and stores in case of emergencies in parties. One of the things I learned in the last few years is that getting to know ALL areas of Metro Manils is important in a catering business, so you know where to send your staff in case something goes wrong. After meetings in Malabon / EDSA North area, I convinced J to bring me to Robinsons Magnolia before my Greenhills meeting. I had time to spare, but he was hesitant as there was a shooting / carnap incident just the day before. I justified that it seemed impossible that an incident wou

The Mind Museum

Image
Mika had been dying to visit the Mind Museum since New Year. One light weekend, where J and I didn't have to attend a party personally, we brought the kids to Divisoria for toy and clothes shopping. (Yes, we're super barat in that sense!) We were a bit shocked since 168 was filled to the brim with people! We were used to having Divi and 168 to ourselves, since we always go on weekdays. (You would notice in our pictures then that we were not dressed for a visit to the Museum!) After accomplishing our checklist of items to buy, M asked if we could still go to the Mind Museum. We knew it was a rare occasion that we were with the kids on a weekend, so even though J was tired from driving and the traffic, we gave way and went to the museum. We've been wanting to take her anyways before the end of the featured exhibit on Bio-Rhythm, as Mika is a huge music and sounds fan.  When I went to pay the entrance, I admit I was a bit thrown off by the total for us 4. LOL Moments.

J and M watching Les Miz 25th Anniversary Concert on DVD. M: Is it just me, or is that Joe Jonas as Marius? J:  Si Nick yan. (Parang close sa mga Jonas.) Minutes later..... M: Is it just me, or, is he really bad? J: He's really bad. Why did they even get him to play Marius? (Irritated tone.) More minutes later..... The original cast of Les Miserables 1985 goes onstage and performs "One Day More."  M: Wow, the original Marius is still really good! THAT's how Marius should be played! J: Kakainis si Jonas, he's standing pa in front, in the middle, with the original Jean Valjean. Feeling! Nick, front and center at the finale. Hours later.... M: (Googling Nick Jonas' credentials). J, etong si Nick pala, he played Marius in Broadway talaga!. I mean, hindi sya guest star! Talagang may experience siya in Broadway! J: I don't care that he was Marius in Broadway. Basta, he wasn't good in the 25th Anniversary. Mas magaling pa the
