Ramen Yushoken

I'm ashamed to say this, but Ramen Yushoken was one of those restaurants that was COMPLETELY out of my radar. How out? Well, I was in Molito almost daily for eating, work, errands, and I NEVER even saw this restaurant. Never heard about it from my friends until a few weeks ago, in fact! Tsk tsk. So out of the loop!

The only reason I came to know about this restaurant, was through this article: "Foodies pick top 3 new restaurants of 2012." (This is a MUST READ, BTW)

A few days after reading the article, J and I tried visiting. However, we came during their off hours, and ended up eating in Con Gusto beside it. Other times, we were with the kids, so we would eat in other places that were more kid-appropriate in the area.

Luckily for us, we had the opportunity a few weeks back to try it out during the correct time!

The prices on a piece of paper. Parang uso ang ganitong menu, even Wildflour's menu is just on paper, unlaminated! Nobody minds though. As you can see, the prices are quite high for a bowl of food, but not high for a bowl of ramen. Good, fresh ramen is really priced that way.

I didn't take much pictures, as we just had ramen and the gyoza and ramens. I would suggest asking the waitress to explain the differences of the ramens. We did, and straight off the bat just ordered (we didn't bother to remember the names, haha.) Mine was spicy, J's was meatier. They were both delicious. I hate to sound redundant, as other bloggers have already said this, but yes, the noodles were good, fresh, and SPRINGY. The gyozas tasted exactly like my mom's though, so, they were good =D Serving size is super filling, and you leave the restaurant very satisfied.

Ambiance is pretty laid-back. There were several groups our age, and several groups also much older, enjoying their food loudly. This is not a quiet space where you enjoy your Ramen in meditative silence,  that's for sure. I haven't tried eating at the Ramen Nazi's place (Ukkokei), and I look forward to it, but I don't think they have the same ambiance. Yushoken's is a cool hangout where people are free to talk and, ehem, take pictures.

We're going back there tomorrow for Alex's birthday. I'm definitely looking forward to it!
