Asahikawa Ramen Bangaichi (Alabang)

Joining the growing ramen community in Alabang is Bangaichi Restaurant, located right behind Festival Supermall (at it's Riverside Area). If you need a landmark for it, it's located in the strip of restaurants behind Save More Supermarket side.

You can park right outside it, which is super convenient. Two stories tall, this restaurant is pretty hard to miss when you're in the right area.
Upon entering, I noticed that Bangaichi had an industrial feel that's pretty popular now (unpainted walls, bare bulbs lighting fixtures). It had a very modern feel to it. They were still on their soft opening when we tried it, so possibly the restaurant may look different inside by now.

As you can see, the restaurant has lovely views of the "Riverside" creation of Festival Supermall, and it has wonderful natural lighting.

With regards to the Ramen, we really enjoyed it. I was happy to have butter corn ramen here in the South (since I also get to have in the ramen places up North.) Their meat was really soft and savory, and had a melt-in-your-mouth kind of quality. It is in no way similar to Yushoken, so I can't compare the 2 restaurants. I would say though that if you're looking for a savory kind of ramen, one that's not super rich, but meaty and warms the belly, this is your kind of place. Prices range from P350/up, a little bit cheaper than other ramen joints.

I would suggest trying this restaurant on one of those cool, rainy days. So you really feel that the ramen warms you up, haha. Can't get the same experience inside a windowless mall!

  2. My friends and I are ramen fans. Our best pick so far is Ramen Yushoken in Molito, Alabang. Next time we're in the area, we'll check this place out. :)
