Business Maker Academy

A few weeks back, I took a day course at Business Maker Academy at Tektite. My cousins are currently taking their Entrepreneurship Masters at AIM-Ateneo, and listening to them I decided it was time for a refresher. I was also looking forward to learning new things, and this course, in particular, was about Professionalizing the Business (focusing on building an Operations Manual). This was something I wanted to look into, since I noticed that there were very few businesses in events and catering that had operations manuals, if any.

I only took 2 pictures, because I forgot to! That's how good our discussion was. It was an intimate class. Most of BMA's classes are more than 10 participants, but for this particular lesson we were just 4 (Justin was supposed to be the 5th, but he had to oversee an event.) I definitely learned a lot that day. Our teacher had a lot of interesting stories and anecdotes. Sometimes you think you've experienced a lot, but it's great hearing experiences of other entrepreneurs. It seems that no matter what field we're in, we all meet the same challenges in management.

Aside from the interesting lesson (which lasted from 9AM - 5:30PM), the facilities were topnotch. We had coffee, snacks, lunch, etc. Aircon was cold, but they had warned us beforehand so we all came with appropriate jackets.

I would definitely take another course there again when I have time!
