Northern Roadtrip 2013 - The Return to Zoobic Safari (Subic) Part 1

It was part of our agenda to visit either Ocean Adventure or Zoobic. We left the decision up to the kids, since they were old enough to make the choice. They chose Zoobic! Although Mika had already gone to Zoobic a few years back (without Josh, since Josh was still a baby that time), she barely remembered it, and wanted to see it again.

The place was much nicer than I remembered it. The swags reminded me of my work! Everything was clean and well-kept. You usually expect some parks to deteriorate over time, but Zoobic was really well-maintained.

This must be the highlight of my kid's summer -- touching this baby cub and getting to feed it! If I'm not mistaken it was P300 for 1 shot =p But they allowed us to take picture using our phone also, so that's okay. It's like you were paying for them to touch the cub.

I really don't remember Zoobic having nice signages like this before. This was the first sign that welcomed us upon entering the park with out guide (who was really good and informative). Several of the birds were not in case and were free to fly around , they were just trained to stay on their trees already.

This was a large cage with exotic birds flying freely inside. Mostly they were just perched around, staring at us. They didn't mind that we went up close and took their photos.

For P10, you can get a handful of seeds, and all these little lovebirds come flying to you! TIP- if you're an adult and don't really feel like buying seeds, stick your palm out and the birds will come flying to you anyway, but they'll stay just for a split second. With the seeds they really stay a while, until all the seeds are gone.

A preview of the lions that we'll be seeing up close on the tram!
You can feed the camels! The guide instructed us to get any dried up leaves on the ground, and the camels went right up to us and gently took them. The camels were very gentle so none of the kids were afraid.

  1. Yep, Zoobic Safari is really a great destination for the family. But it'll be more fun if it you could turn it into an overnight adventure which you can do at 30% off: http://bit.ly/1ftQpGH
