Mel and the New Normal

Ever since my sickness a few weeks back, my milk supply hasn't gone back to normal. This is what it feels like pala, when you try and try and nothing happens to the milk. I've been taking fenugreek *yuck* and pumping more often, but still, no response. It's so disappointing. I don't know if it has anything to do with my cough for the last week. It looks like I have t go back to a specialist, because it feels like the asthma I developed during my last few weeks of pregnancy. Huwattt?? I hope it's not asthma. I've been sleeping more also to get back in top shape, but still, no effect! I just ordered brownies today from Mommytreats . Crossing my fingers that it works!

Do you know how Kobe Beef cows are taken care of? They are fed with beer and massaged on a daily basis (with 2 attendants at a time, mind you!) to provide you with the juiciest, tenderest beef in the world. J and I often joke that if we were to live another life again, we would like to be two Kobe cows raised beside each other, hahaha.  For the first time  since  July, I gave milk to a baby that I personally knew. Actually, he's my flesh and blood, the son of my cousin Terry. We're working together to give super cutie Baby Andres the best milk until 6 months. It was the first time I also have personally met one of my "babies". How awesome is that?  And for the first time ever, I got a gift for donating (courtesy of Papi Nico!) Since most of my donations are anonymous, and I insist on getting nothing in return (mahirap na may favoritism when segregating the milk, haha! Breastfeeding and Breastpumping are true struggles. It's no joke, and I applaud women who exclusively breastfeed their kids for 6 months. A lot of women initially struggle with breastfeeding and their supply. I get asked often, how I built such a large supply even if I don't have a baby? Truth be told, if Kat was alive, I don't doubt that my supply would be double, if I could handle it! Hearing your baby cry, her touch, helps the let-down process. Working with a machine isn't the same. However, I have milk buddies that made this easier for me. PS.
