Sam Won (BF Homes, Paranaque)

Image
Parking = FULL Having worked in BF Homes for a good 3 years, we've eaten in a LOT of restaurants in BF Homes. Hands down, one of our favorites is Borgo , which I've raved about several times in this blog. There are other great restaurants located in BF area, which is why I never gave Sam Won a second look. One day, Justin pointed out Sam Won, and observed that it always had full parking. I told him that we would try it next time we were in the area (I admit, this was a half-hearted comment since I wasn't interested in Korean cuisine, hehe.) The opportunity arose one diet/starvation day, where I couldn't/shouldn't have my favorite pasta and desserts. So I told J that we might as well try Sam Won, since *tears* I couldn't have my favorite food anyways. We were doing a no carbs diet for a few days/years, so off we headed to Sam Won. Tadaaa! Here we are! I am soooo glad I gave it a try! I had no idea what Sam Won served (e...

Ramen Kuroda (BF Homes)

Image
My high school barkada remains my closest friends to this day, and we meet up regularly in the South area to catch up (since we're all based there.) Usually we meet in our favorite Cafe Breton, but for a change they suggested we meet up in BF. They suggested Ramen Kuroda, a place I've never heard of. Now, I am a HUGE, GIMONGOUS FAN of ramen. I kid you not. *Oink oink* Justin is a super duper fan of ramen as well. Well, we're fans of most food, but still. We are ramen snobs, haha! Yushoken still rates #1 on our last, closely followed by Ukkokei (did I even spell that right?). I always love trying new ramen places out, so I was definitely game for this! I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ramen Kuroda was a large restaurant near other familiar restaurants in BF. Most restaurants in BF are teeny hole-in-the-wall places (still with yummy food, of course), but Ramen Kuroda was quite large and could easily seat 50 people. The restaurant had no-nonsense interiors wi...

Dusadee Thai (BF Homes)

Image
Justin and I, we love us some thai food. Long time. So we were very happy to see a cheap place in BF, near Gourmet's Palate, that sold super cheap thai foo. Dusadee Thai! The interiors are very simple, and small, but professionally done. You could say that they started their branding really well. I can drink thai milk tea all day, everyday! And the way they prepared theirs is very authentic and true to the taste of thai milk tea. This is their Bagoong Rice with Pork meal (which, if I'm not mistaken, is P120). Yes it is very good! My favorite, mango with sticky coconut rice. Really good too! I was wondering why, for a start up business, Dusadee came off very franchise-prepared, with printed cups and well-prepared menu boards. For one, the minimum to print logos on cups is around 10,000 - an investment that few start-ups are willing to make. Also, the photos on their menus are professionally done, and the vision for the small restaurant is very clear in term...

Borgo Cafe

Image
When I experience a really good restaurant, I tend to tell my friends about it over and over and over again, until it's nakakainis na! Sometimes, I forget that I already told a particular group about it, and then rave about the restaurant for another round! Perhaps another reason why I need a blog, as an outlet for my raves. I'm always exhilarated by inexpensive good finds. Borgo Cafe in BF is a restaurant that I have been insisting to all my friends to visit. It is a small restaurant in BF Homes, along Aguirre Avenue. It's a hop and skip away from our favorite massage place, Ruyifang. If you're familiar with BF Homes, it's right across South Diner. J and I have been there several times, but it's only this time that I remembered to take pictures of the food so I could write about it.  What initially lured J and I was the P499 Steak-All-You-Can Anniversary promo that they had. When I got there though and saw the big servings the other customers were havi...

Larcy's Cupcakes

Image
Just a few hours ago, after watching the horrifying Pacquiao fight ( I say horrifying because for a moment there I thought he was dead), J and I headed over to Larcy's Cupcakes for merienda and talk about the fight. We had passed by the store several times and knew it had opened yesterday, so we decided to drop by since we were curious about the cupcakes. The design of the frontage of the store was really nice and cute, so we wanted to check out what was inside and the different offerings. Meals Menu, Iced Latte, Larcy's Outdoor Signage They were pretty much still on a soft openingbut I was impressed with the interiors of the store. Usually some of the stores in BF are always "works-in-progress" mode, meaning they open, they they keep adding on furniture, menus, etc later on. But Larcy's opened and they had beautiful boxes, elegant water bottles with their logos, personalized merchandise such as shirts that you can buy. They were pretty much set up alrea...
