Mel and the New Normal

I was busy last week, so just had the chance to post this now. My Baby turns 1 today. If she was alive, we'd probably be having an uber cool, super-fly party for her. Because, well, that's what we do for a living. Extra special because she would have been a survivor. But, since we're corny and she's not here with us, we just styled her grave in a super cheesy manner! FUNNY, CHEESY, CORNY, GOOD VIBES! (FYI when we got there her "caretaker" had taken it upon herself to put those white flowers on her own, haha. She was expecting us because we're there almost every week, so she anticipated the date.)

Ever been at the cemetery right after the Undas? It's my first time. Rows and rows and rows of dried and drying flowers, as far as the eye can see. You don't see this on November 1, with the Army Navy and Purefoods stands all around, and millions of people milling about. It's when they're all gone, and it's silent, and all you see are the millions of flowers left behind, that you truly feel the November 1 spirit. You're all still in our hearts. We will never forget.

Kat's gorgeous flowers, my family, and Cafe Med. Kat's 1st November 1 Celebration. Woke up at 5:30 AM so that we wouldn't get caught in traffic. Spent a few hours with the family (my lolo and dad are buried above Kat). Grateful to have been with family. Had lunch to celebrate my big brother's birthday (yes, his birthday is November 1). It was a good day.
