My 30th. - Part 1
This birthday celebration was definitely the best I've had in years. =D
It started off the day before my actual birthday. On the afternoon of May 8, J and I trooped to SM Arena to watch Aerosmith, one of my favorite bands of ALL TIME. I don't seem like the type to love rock bands (and in fact, buying these tickets surprised some of my close friends), but Aerosmith is LOVE! My childhood default channel was MTV, so I love love love Aerosmith, Meatloaf, Bon Jovi! In addition to that, I love Guitar Hero, and I can rock the Aerosmith game like a pro. Well, maybe not, haha, but I love their albums!
Last year, while I was on bedrest, American Idol would play almost every hour on Star World. Therefore, it was my default channel and show for the last few months of my pregnancy. Whenever I would feel sad about our situation, Steve Tyler's antics would make my day.
Well, there was more to him than that. He was a great and funny job during that season too.
Anyways, I would turn to J and say, "If Aerosmith comes, even to a country near us, we're flying there and watching them."
And there they were, the evening before my birthday! Heaven sent or what?
We were there super early because of our missing tickets situation, and were among the first let in. The stadium took a while to fill up, and the VIP and Lower Box never really filled up (hello, P20k a ticket!). But the whole GA and Upper Box was full!
Good, simple setup. The Aerosmith logo was in the middle of the stage. That's Steve Tyler rockin it out. I would post videos, but then you'd heat me screaming like a schoolgirl in the background. Haha!
I was so happy that they played almost all my favorites! Jaded, Cryin, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing, Dream On, Sweet Emotion. They didn't sing Crazy though! That was one of my favorites. I was expecting them to be, well, not at full performance mode? Or maybe winded, I don't know, haha! But they were SUPERB! That performance was soooooo good! Steve Tyler was effortlessly perfect.
J and I, still on a high from the concert, went to check out the new Solaire a few minutes away from the Arena. we ate at their 24-hour restaurant, Lucky Noodles (which was really good, by the way) and raved about the concert. Several other people who came from the concert were there, too! It was a good salubong, just me and J.
The next day, J and I worked in the morning. The initial plan was to visit the cemetery before going up to Tagaytay, but I made the decision not to. It was my own decision, and it hurt me to do it. I knew that if I went, my mind would not be on it's proper perspective the whole day. J had prepared for that day, and it would be selfish of me to spoil everything unnecessarily.
The day started off well, with a free upgrade to my Starbucks coffee in Festival Mall. Haha. It's really babaw, I know, but it was a good sign! We then went straight to Tagaytay. We were supposed to have lunch at my favorite place, Buon Giorno, but they were having kitchen problems that day. All good, we were given a chance to eat at Platito, the place beside it.
Their pink lemonade was quite good!
J had their Brazillian Rib Eye Steak (whch he said was okay), this came with a plate of vegetables (which followed after a few minutes, that's why it wasn't in the picture.)
I had the Norweigan salmon. This was pretty good too actually, I just didn't want to eat that much since I was anticipating a heavy dinner. All in all it was a good lunch, but I still missed my Buon Giorno!
After lunch, we headed off to Ilog Maria. I had been wanting to visit Ilog Maria for a few years, but we never got the chance to because we wouldn't have enough time. Also, I always ended up going there on a Monday, and they would be closed! No pics of the actual place (in truth, there was not much to see) but here's some of the products that I got.
The one on the leftmost is drops to ward off infections and sickness, their shampoo, which I heard was good for product build-up, and their massage oil. Not in photo - mouth spray for sore throat, etc. J was using it that day already because he was a bit sick.
I also wanted to check out Gourmet's facility, which was near Ilog Maria. We use Gourmet's for our caterings, so I wanted to see what products they had to offer aside from what I see in the groceries.
They had a small restaurant/venue, but we didn't check it out anymore. We only went inside the small cafe/bakery place by the main road. There were a lot of goodies inside!
We had some of their coffee (which was good) and cookies (not so good). We bought some ube halaya (yummy) and vegetable chips for take home.Ilog Maria
