Grace Park (Rockwell)

Grace Park has been around for quite a while now, but I never got to try it because I'm rarely in Rockwell. I love Margarita Fores' restaurants though, and as we passed by One Rockwell on the way to a meeting, I was reminded to try Grace Park. Was so very glad that we did!

The interiors of the restaurant were very surprising for me. It was very rustic, shabby-chic, yet gritty with the cement finishing still showing. I can't really explain how that all works together, but it does. It's a very new look for me, and I'm assuming this is something that is very "in" in culinary restaurants in NYC.

To be honest, when we got a copy of the menu, I was a little surprised by the prices. I assumed it would be about the same price of Cibo, and of course, I should have assumed wrong considering this was a very different concept.

For starters (we were really hungry) we ordered Sardines Dip (P250). I know, it's about the price of a dish. But this was really good, we haven't tasted anything like it. It was served with bread and crispy.. chips? It was good to try the dip on two types of textures.

I had the Roast Duck (P675) for lunch. I know, quite expensive. It was good, and you can tell it was well-prepared. It was also very soft. I couldn't finish it, so I ended up bringing some home for dinner. Nothing super memorable though, personally. I don't think I would order this again, if I came back.

J had their specialty Muscovado Beef Belly (P510). As we mentioned in our previous posts, like the one about H Cuisine, we love love love Beef Belly. This was ALSO huge. Our pictures never do justice but this was really big.  It was quite chunky though, and because of the size I didn't get the feel of "melt-in-your-mouth." I actually had to chew a lot to get this down. It was still good though I prefer H Cuisine's style. We also had to bring some of it home for dinner.

All in all, it was a good meal. A lot of yuppies from the nearby offices were eating there as well, and having meetings. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon because of the prices, but it's a nice date place for couples in the area.

  1. I'll check it out one time. I love Rockwell, it just gets a bit crowded on weekends. I think this will be a good option for me. It looks relaxed and away from the crowds. I'm not too comfortable eating in a place that's crowded.
